Lucas FFA Buyers Club

Junior Fair Sale "Lucas Buyers Club"

The Junior Fair Sale is the culmination of months, and for many youth, years of dedication and hard work. Many of these young people use the proceeds of the sale of their animals to fund their next project while also saving money for their college fund.

Beginning in 1964, the Lucas FFA Buyers Club  was formed and is the 2nd oldest buyers club in Richland County. This group gave a new opportunity for local businesses, organizations, and individuals to get involved supporting Lucas area youth at the Richland County Junior Livestock Sale.

The basics are simple. Those who can't attend the sale, or perhaps those wishing to provide support at a level less than enough to purchase an entire animal are invited to make a donation that will be pooled into the Lucas Buyers Club funds. Anyone is welcome to participate; including local businesses, organizations, or even individuals. No donation is too small!

The pool of funds that are contributed to the Lucas Buyers Club will be used to make purchases of projects of youth living in the Lucas school district throughout the sale that may have lesser buyer support than others.  The goal is to ensure that all youth earning a sale slot are rewarded for their hard work and effort while also allowing another opportunity for additional buyers to participate.

Contributions will be accepted throughout the year in any amount and are 100% tax deductible.

Annual Lucas FFA Alumni/Buyers Club Gun Raffle

Help us raise funds to assist in purchasing our 4-H & FFA members’ Richland County Fair Animals this August!

Each year, the cost of purchasing and raising livestock increases. Buying these raffle tickets will increase the Buyers Club’s ability to purchase more of the kids’ projects allowing them to save for their future. Through the FFA & 4-H clubs, members learn valuable skills and responsibilities that they carry with them for a lifetime! As the FFA Motto states: “Learning to do, doing to learn, earning to live, and living to serve.”

In total, there will be 6 guns raffled off, 3 long guns and 3 handguns that are worth $3,150!!

  • Our goal is to sell 1,000 tickets to help the Buyers Club program and our kids.

  • You do not have to be present to win.

  • Drawing will be held on May 20, 2025 at the Lucas Community Center starting at 6 PM with free food, desserts, and drinks.

  • We will also be holding silent auctions including various items from the Sportsman’s Den as well as multiple baskets that you can bid on.
